Energy Education for Educators 2015

Nuke tour E3 6-8-15Energy Education for Educators (E3) conferences were held around the state of Minnesota in June 2015.  The six 2-day sessions targeted high school and middle school math, science, agriculture and industrial technology teachers.  Funding for the conferences was provided by Minnesota State Colleges and Universities and by the Minnesota Energy Center.  Participating colleges hosting the events were:

* Anoka-Ramsey Community College
* Century College
* Fond du lac Tribal & Community College
* Itasca Community College
* Minnesota West Community & Technical College
* Riverland Community College
* St. Cloud Technical & Community College

The conferences consisted of multiple industry site tours and classroom workshops.  Participants were provided lesson plans, supporting curriculum and training kits to be used in their classrooms.  The goal is to expose high school and middle school students to the energy industry in our state and region and get them thinking about future careers in the energy industry.  Industry partners included Xcel Energy, Minnesota Power, Great River Energy, Alliant Energy, regional solar and wind powered energy producers.DSC08558E3 2015 (8)IMG_0484IMG_0657DSC08482 - Copy - Copy
